Thanks so very much to Oh She Glows for this awesome recipe. It is superb. Light, tasty, crispy, seedy crackers. Dave’s response was “WHY would you ever buy crackers after these?”. They are nut free, gluten free, soy free, oil free – everything free but seeds and onion really. (I did think the onion/garlic thing was very odd but it turns out it works beautifully). I’ve added in some nutritional yeast and cumin.

1/2 cup chia seeds

1/2 cup sesame seeds

1/2 cup pepitas

1/2 cup sunflower seeds

2 tsps nutritional yeast flakes

1 cup water

1 grated garlic clove

1 tsp grated purple onion (sweet onion)

sprinkle of salt, pepper and cumin

Mix the seeds and nutritional yeast together. (The nutritional yeast is not important to this recipe so leave it out if you require. I added it because it is an important supplement to get in for Vit B12 for plant based eaters).

Mix the garlic and onion in the water and combine with the seed mix and spices.

Spread it out like a paste onto a baking tray with baking paper. Spread it as finely as possible.

Bake at 180deg C for 30 minutes, pull it out and slice it into desired cracker shapes, then continue baking for another 15 minutes.

Absolutely stunning. Seedy crackers that are lovely with fresh hummous. Really healthy, energy producing, crunchy snack! Love love love.

  1. I get a lot of inspiration from Oh She Glows as well and these crackers look AMAZING! I love how much crunchyness is involved 🙂 I’ll have to try these sometime!
